Fort Lewis Mesa wins governor’s award

Librarian Chris Conrad reads to students at Fort Lewis Elementary, which won the Governor’s Distinguished Improvement Award for the second consecutive year.

Fort Lewis Mesa Elementary School for the second consecutive year has won the Governor’s Distinguished Improvement Award for exceptional student academic improvement.

The award goes to schools that exceed expected academic growth and that bring the performance of ethnic minority or poverty-level students more in line with mainstream standards.
