Fort Lewis to host archaeology class

Assistant State Archaeologist Becca Simon will teach a class about “Geophysics and Remote Sensing” from May 31 through June 3 at Center of Southwest Studies at Fort Lewis College, 1000 Rim Drive.

This 20-hour course is part of the Program for Avocational Archaeological Certification, and is open to the public. No previous classes are required.

This course discusses the methods, theories and applicability of geophysical survey and remote sensing techniques to archaeology. One half day will be spent in the field for hands-on learning.

Cost for the class is $20.
