Fort Lewis women finish last at RMAC Track and Field Championships

Webb’s 6th place finish best for FLC

Fort Lewis College sent a women’s team to the 2016 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Track and Field Championships for the second year in school history, and the Skyhawks had some impressive performances this time around.

FLC finished last of the 12 RMAC teams that competed with eight points. New Mexico Highlands came away with the title claiming 132 points. Chadron State finished second with 124.

Skylyn Webb’s fifth-place finish in the 200-meter dash (26.28 seconds) and sixth in the 400-meter dash (57.27 seconds) were the top finishes for Fort Lewis.

Quinlyn Borneo finished in eighth (27.18) closely behind Webb in the 200, and Emily Bryant’s 5:31.14 was good enough for 19th in the mile run.

Erin Renner was 34th (11:13.56) and Madison Obernesser finished 41st (11:56.77) for Fort Lewis in the 3,000-meter run.

The Skyhawks’ 4x400 relay team of Borneo, Payton Kee, Maggie Murphy and Webb took ninth with a time of 4:13.45.
