A forum to discuss Nov. 7 ballot issues will be held at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at City Hall, 949 East Second Ave.
Of the three seats on the Durango School District 9-R Board, District E is contested. Candidates for the District E seat, Shere Kuss Byrd and Emily Newcomer, will be on a panel to answer questions from audience members. The ballot issue to authorize a property tax increase to fund fire protection and emergency services for voters in the Durango Fire Protection District will be discussed at the forum. Uncontested candidates Nancy Stubbs of District A and Mick Souder of District C have been invited to attend and give a short introduction.
