Police have arrested two men and two women on suspicion of swiping a necklace worth $4,300 from Sorrel Sky Art Gallery in Durango.
The heist occurred Dec. 11 when the group entered the gallery at 828 Main Ave., according to a news release issued Wednesday by the Durango Police Department. One of the men distracted an employee while the second man stole the gold necklace from a display, police said.
The four left the store together.
The sales associate noticed the missing necklace and reviewed surveillance video to confirm one of the men took the necklace, police said. She reported the theft to police.
Police officers and a store associate were able to identify one of the suspects by using Facebook, according to the news release. Officers located and recovered the necklace from a local pawn shop. They then identified all four suspects and arrested them Dec. 12.
They were identified as:
Frances S. Beck, 27, of Durango, who was arrested for theft by complicity and providing false information to a pawn broker by complicity.
Omar Jaramillo, 21, of Durango, who was arrested on suspicion of felony theft and providing false information to a pawn broker by complicity.
Valentine Vigil, 41, of Dulce, N.M., who was arrested for theft by complicity and providing false information to a pawn broker by complicity.
Rebekah E. Young, 26, of Walla Walla, Wash., who was arrested for theft by complicity and providing false information to a pawn broker.
All four were booked into the La Plata County jail on $10,000 bail.
