Four Corners Beekeepers Association to host spring seminar

The Four Corners Beekeepers Association will hold its spring seminar from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 2 in the Lyceum Room of the Center of Southwest Studies at Fort Lewis College.

Featured speaker Meghan Milbrath will discuss treatment-free beekeeping, swarm biology, successful overwintering, sustainable beekeeping and more.

Milbrath owns and manages the Sand Hill Apiary, a small livestock and queen-rearing operation in Munith, Michigan. She is currently an academic specialist at Michigan State University, where she does honey bee and pollinator research, and is the coordinator of the Michigan Pollinator Initiative.

The seminar is free for Fort Lewis Bee Club members, $25 for Four Corners Beekeepers Association members and $30 for non-members.
