Four Corners Veterans Stand Down will host an event from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at La Plata County Fairgrounds.
Services provided at the event will include help with VA benefits, enrollment, medical care, mental health care and general healthcare, hygiene supplies, housing assistance, haircuts, clothing, employment and optometry.
Stand Down is a military term for when military members return from the front and are afforded a time to take some down time and re-equip or repair damaged gear. Stand Down events are an opportunity to connect with other veterans and organizations that help veterans.
Four Corners Stand Down is focused on homeless, jobless and at risk veterans to offer a “hand up-not a hand out.” Although focused on this small section of veterans, all veterans are welcome to attend.
