Diehard Bayfield fans travelled 441 miles to Sterling to witness another Wolverine shutout, this time against the Sterling Tigers, 41-0.

The game went into the mercy rule at the start of the fourth quarter after Bayfield was ahead by more than 40 points. Last weekend, Bayfield defeated Florence, also 41-0, to start its state playoff games.
Up next, the Wolverines will hit the road again to play on Saturday, Nov. 19 in La Junta, the top-ranked team in the 2A class. The winner of the Bayfield-La Junta game moves into the state finals on Saturday, Nov. 26. Coming up the other side of the bracket, sixth-ranked Kent Denver plays tenth-ranked Delta on Saturday in Denver in the other 2A semi-final game.
