Free library, drop box installed at Forest Lakes

The Pine River Library is proud to announce the newest addition to its services, a free library and book drop located by the mailboxes in the Forest Lakes subdivision north of Bayfield. The project was funded by the Friends of the Library and the structure was designed and built by local woodworker Ray Zwisler.

"This joint project between the library and The Friends of the Library is a great new service in the Forest Lakes community," said Library Director Shelley Walchak.

The top half is a "Free Library" stocked by the Friends of the Pine River Library. Users can also practice the "take a book, leave a book" philosophy. The bottom half of the unit is a book drop for Pine River Library materials, which will be emptied by the multiple library employees who live in Forest Lakes.

"We will be using it frequently!" one patron wrote on the library's facebook page. "Thank you guys for thinking of us Forest Lakes peeps especially on days when it's hard to get anywhere!"
