The Ignacio School District for the fourth summer is serving free breakfast and lunch for infants to 18-year-olds.
Parents may eat with children by paying $2.50 for breakfast and $3.50 for lunch.
“I change the menu from year to year based on how well the previous year’s items were accepted and the cost of food and labor,” program director Kim Cotta said Monday.
The program is not limited to Ignacio School District students.
Meals will be served Monday through Friday at Ignacio Elementary School, 85 Country Road 320. Breakfast is from 7:45 to 8:45 a.m. Lunch is from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Cotta said about 75 breakfasts and 100 to 125 lunches are served.
Breakfast eaters will find yogurt, granola bars, waffles and milk, she said. Lunch consists of pizza and cheeseburgers.
Cotta is reimbursed by the State Department of Education for each meal served.
