Bayfield Convenience Center will offer free mulch loading to residents from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday at 4496 County Road 223, Bayfield.
La Plata County staff members will be on-site with heavy equipment to load vehicles and trailers with wood mulch. The transfer station will be closed and not accepting waste during the free mulch-loading.
For safety, residents are required to remain in their vehicles at all times in the loading and staging area, and the vehicle must be in park while the equipment operator is maneuvering around the vehicle and loading mulch. Space is provided after the mulch loading area to cover the mulch load for transport.
