La Plata County will offer free wood mulch and will help load it into vehicles and trailers from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, May 20, at Bayfield Convenience Center, 4496 County Road 223.

County staff will be on site with heavy equipment to load wood mulch into vehicles and trailers.

Green, brown and clear glass, newspaper, aluminum, tin cans and car batteries will be accepted as recyclables. Separate glass by color, remove lids and flatten tin cans at the open end before recycling.

Bayfield Convenience Center is open 1-6 p.m. Mondays, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Tuesdays, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Thursdays and 1-6 p.m. Saturdays.
