Thanks to Durango’s city and economic-development leadership for giving downtown parkers two weeks of free weekday downtown parking. The timing is right for Christmas shopping.
Very early in the new year, parking rates will be increased. Along Main Avenue, and half a block on either side, parkers also will be able to use a credit card as well as a city-issued smart card.
Red plastic bags over the meter heads serve as a reminder of the free parking period that extends until Monday, Dec. 30.
