The Pine River Library will host a facilitated discussion on freedom from 5:45 to 7:15 p.m. Thursday, July 25, at the library, 395 Bayfiel Center Drive.
Freedom is a key concept in America’s founding documents. We are proud to be a free people. What happens when people’s definitions of freedom differ? Is it ever good for the government to limit an assembly of citizens? How do we celebrate our freedom and care for it so that it reflects our highest values?
Our discussion of this topic will be guided by The Living Room Conversation model, which brings together a small group of people to get to know one another in a more meaningful way. Guided by a simple and sociable format, participants practice being open and curious about all perspectives, with a focus on learning from one another, rather than trying to debate the topic at hand.
