Freedom lies outside world of COVID-19

Friends, family, fellow Durangoans, the tide is turning. The prime minister of the United Kingdom, Boris Johnson, has ended all COVID-19 vaccine and mask restrictions. Most likely an act to save face after pictures of him surfaced, showing Boris partying with a large gathering of friends.

This behavior has been replicated many times by our own representatives here in the United States of America. The kings and queens of high society flouting the draconian lockdowns, ignoring the social distancing and mask edicts that they impose on us, their constituents.

Take a moment and tally up how many friends or family members you no longer talk to because of ideological differences surrounding vaccination, masking and social distancing. I am willing to bet that number far outweighs the number of loved ones you have lost to COVID-19. I am urging everyone to come back from the brink of authoritarianism, tyranny and medical dictatorship. The sky did not fall! The world did not end!

There is a whole spectrum of experience outside the black-and-white world of COVID-19. I hope to see you all there someday. We can all move into a glorious future united in the knowledge that freedom is often tricky, can be scary, and sometimes even dangerous, but ultimately will allow us to live our best lives.
