The National Weather Service issued a freeze warning for much of the Western Slope beginning Sunday night, as temperatures drop into the upper 20s to lower 30s.
Locations in Southwest Colorado include Cortez, Dove Creek, Mancos, Durango, Bayfield, Ignacio and Pagosa Springs, the weather service in Grand Junction said, as well as Steamboat Springs, Craig, Meeker, Rifle, Mesa and Glenwood Springs.
The warning runs from 10 p.m. Sunday to 9 a.m. Monday, with the lowest temperatures occurring just before sunrise.
The weather service forecasts sunny skies Monday in Durango, with a high temperature of 62 degrees and an overnight low of 32. The extended forecast calls for a chance of rain Tuesday night through Friday, with highs in the upper to mid 60s and lows in the low 40s.
