The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued a freeze warning from 3 to 8 a.m. Friday for cities across western Colorado.
Locations under a freeze warning include Rangely, Dinosaur, De Beque, New Castle, Mesa, Parachute, Rifle, Silt, Eagle, Edwards, Glenwood Springs, Carbondale, Cortez, Dove Creek, Mancos, Durango, Bayfield and Ignacio.
Temperatures are expected to range from 28 to 32 degrees with coldest temperatures occurring around sunrise. Sensitive vegetation and swamp coolers will be affected by sub-freezing temperatures.
These conditions can kill crops and other sensitive vegetation.
