The Fast and The Curious Fun Run is back. The 5k/10k run starts and ends at Santa Rita Park, 149 South Camino del Rio, on June 24. Both races start at 8 a.m. and follow the Animas River Trail with an out-and-back style route.
All proceeds from the fundraiser benefit the nonprofit Durango Education Center.
Competitors can opt to shave off some of their running time by answering multiple-choice quiz questions that reflect what adult students are learning. Topics include high school-level math, science, social studies and more.
The $35 5k race is open to both runners and walkers, and children younger than 16 are free. The $45 10k race is designated for runners only. The event wraps up around 11 a.m. and includes a Finishers’ Picnic, prizes and vendor tables. Runners can join Summit Fitness in its free stretching and movement session before the race begins.
Registration deadline is June 7.
