Italian producer, composer and multi-instrumentalist Gaudi will return to Durango tonight for a show at Animas City Theatre.
Tonight’s concert is one of only two North American stops for Gaudi; he played earlier this week at the Symbiosis Music Festival in California and will head to the United Kingdom from here.
“He’s been looking for an excuse to get back to Durango,” said ACT manager Eugene Salaz, who brought Gaudi to the former Abbey Theatre last year on Halloween.
Gaudi’s career spans more than 30 years and includes scores of credits with some of the top musicians in the world as well as producer credits on records such as Simple Minds’ “Don’t You Forget About Me” and films including “One Giant Leap.”
He has played to huge audiences at venues from the Great Pyramids in Egypt to the Roman Colisseum, where the crowd numbered 350,000 for a 2004 concert.
Hear an interview with Gaudi at 6 p.m. today on “The Heartbeat of Zion” on KDUR (91.9/93.9 FM).
