Many dentists talk about fluoride as if it is a totally benign substance. They say any study showing the perils of fluoridation (numbering in the hundreds) is obviously unscientific and flawed.
Dentists told us that mercury was absolutely safe to put in our fillings. We were assured that lead paint, lead pipes and leaded gasoline were also safe. Many medical doctors even convinced us that smoking cigarettes was fine for our health.
None of these things were true, and most of the world thinks the same thing happened with fluoridation, except the American Dental Association, which endorses fluoride products for money. Here are more facts about fluoride that can’t be ignored:
In 2014, the medical journal Lancet included fluoride on the list of known neurotoxins. In 2006, The National Research Council classified fluoride an endocrine disruptor, causing hypothyroid function even in small doses. In 2006, Harvard studies discovered the connection between fluoridation and the deadly form of osteosarcoma cancer in boys exposed to fluoridation. These studies have been recently validated. The fluoride we add to our drinking water is not pharmaceutical grade, neither is it naturally occurring, nor is it a nutrient. It is documented to be waste products from the smokestack scrubbers of the fertilizer industry, is highly corrosive and caustic, and linked to higher levels of lead poisoning in children. It enhances the uptake of aluminum in the body, and contains trace amounts of arsenic, mercury, lead and radon. It seems unbelievable, but true. See organiccomsumers.org and http://fluoridealert.org/issues/water/fluoridation-chemicals/.A recent review by the Lancet indicates that fluoride may damage the developing brain, cause learning disabilities and ADHD.The FDA has classified fluoride as a drug. This includes the neurotoxin sodium fluoride we add to our water in Durango.Forty-three studies correlate fluoride exposure with reduced intelligence in children. Can they all be wrong? See fluoridealert.org for sources of research articles.Forty-one percent of children in U.S. have dental fluorosis, a sign of fluoride toxicity. If you support removing this neurotoxin from our drinking water, find more information and sign in on our website cleanwaterdurango.org.
