Getting ready to blast

Three employees with Yenter Companies drill rock on U.S. Highway 550 at Bondad Hill, preparing to blast and remove the outcropping. A large piece of rock come down on the road’s shoulder on Oct. 26, prompting removal and mitigation work. Crews were expecting to stop traffic completely in both directions midday today or Thursday while blasting takes place. Traffic will be impacted from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily until crews complete the work.
