‘Gilda Yazzie has my vote’

My longtime friend Gilda Yazzie is running for Durango City Council and has my vote. Gilda’s extensive professional background and bachelor’s degree in business from Fort Lewis College make her an ideal candidate for Council.

She has worked with the U.S. Housing and Urban Development, and other tribal, federal and state agencies. She has been a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity, and served on city and county boards. She lived in Washington, D.C., where she worked on Capitol Hill on women’s rights and racial equality issues.

It is time we had an Indigenous woman in local office, and a person who can reflect the diversity of Durango and our region. Please consider joining me in voting for Gilda Yazzie on Tuesday, April 4.
