Durango Athletic Director Ryan Knorr announced that Ryan Woolverton would be the interim head coach of the Durango High School football team.
After the 2024 season, a national search for a new head coach will begin and Woolverton is welcome to apply.
Last season, former football head coach Matt Burton went 9-2, then moved to a more affordable place to live. Woolverton’s been a member of the Demons coaching staff for more than 10 years on two separate stints.
So why not let Woolverton have what he deserves? The keys to the team. From what I know, is he’s a Durango native and has raised his family there. Don’t think he’s leaving anytime soon.
Good Luck, Coach Woolverton.
