Glow's Salon has moved to a larger space at 498 Church Street and welcomes current and new clients during its grand opening this weekend.
Owner Gloria Kiersten offers manicures, pedicures, and ionic detoxification foot baths (more on that later.)
"We want Glow's to be a place of healing," Kiersten said. "Our services will help you look better, but we want you to feel better on the inside, as well."
Erin Christner is the salon's certified massage therapist, offering deep tissue, neuromuscular and prenatal massage.
Erin Fischer provides haircuts and styles, waxing, facials and skin treatments.
The salon's grand opening is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and tomorrow, with $10 off coupons for a future visit. There also will be door prizes, drawings, local crafters and vendors, and free 15-minute "angel readings" from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. today. Angels are a recurring motif throughout the salon. Guests at the event include medium Trisha Dolan, wildlife photographer Jo Ellen Locken, and Jan Brossman, who performs crystal reiki, a form of channeling healing spirits, combined with the healing power of crystals.
The rest of the salon space is devoted to 15 consignment vendors, offering jewelry, art, antiques, stones, handmade bags and other finds. There also is a lending library with metaphysical books.
The ionic detoxification manufacturers claim the foot-soaking process withdraws toxins from the body. A treatment lasts about half an hour.
Glow's regular hours are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, but with the expanded hours this weekend.
