Good times flow at Pine River Brewfest

The inaugural Pine River Brewfest filled Eagle Park in downtown Bayfield with people, beer, barbecue and live music on Saturday.

People's choice for best brewer went to WildEdge Brewing Collective of Cortez, while Bottom Shelf Brewery in Bayfield won the honors for best barbecue.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Be Frank Foundation, which provides music education programs in Bayfield and Durango.

A children's area at the event included a bounce house and escape room run by the Bayfield Association for the Advancement of Music, along with games and face painting.

Fifteen brewers, cideries and distillers offered samples of their drinks, along with barbecue from local restaurants and cooks. Meat for the event was provided by Farmers Fresh Market in Ignacio. River Arkansas from Denver, Sam Morrow from Los Angeles and Parsonsfield, a folk band from Connecticut, provided the live music for the event, along with local musicians Garrett and Callie Young, Madison Allen and Agave.
