Animas Valley Grange is hosting a Community Barbecue picnic from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 14 at the Animas Valley Grange, 7271 County Road 203, about 1 mile north of Durango Hot Springs. The event is free and open to the public.
Burgers, lemonade and iced tea will be provided. Attendees should bring a side dish or dessert to share. There will be experts on hand to direct apple pressing, so bring apples and containers to take home cider.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their favorite indoor or outdoor kids games.
