Animas Valley Grange will host a tour of historic sites around Hermosa from 10 a.m. to noon Sept. 18 beginning at Animas Valley Grange, 7271 County Road 203.
Lifelong Animas Valley resident Edward Mead and Ruth Lambert, cultural program director for the San Juan Mountain Association, will lead the tour. The tour will begin with a short history of the grange and proceed to the original house of the pioneer Mead family, the Buchanan house and historic orchard and the Hermosa cemetery.
Participants are encouraged to carpool from the grange to other sites.
