The Colorado Department of Transportation and contractor Cruz Construction of Colorado Springs will conduct guardrail work along several stretches of highway in La Plata and Archuleta counties.
Work includes guardrail removal and replacement, as well as erosion control and shoulder work.
Work is expected to be accomplished in this order, through April 29, weather permitting:
U.S. Highway 550, various sections between mileposts 3.5 and 3.8 in La Plata County, just north of the New Mexico state line (through Friday).Colorado Highway 151, various sections between mileposts 16.2 and 18.6, at Arboles in Archuleta County (through late April).Colorado Highway 172, various sections between mileposts 11.8 and 22.5 in La Plata County, between Ignacio and the junction with U.S. Highway 160 in Durango (beginning mid-April).Drivers can expect single-lane, alternating travel where work zones exist from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.
