I encourage voters to join me in supporting Guinn Unger for the Colorado State Senate District 6. I like Unger’s sensible ideas on gun safety to prevent school children from being periodically slaughtered by people who should not own any gun. Even more, I like what he says about education. I taught school for over 30 years and know how little we pay the people who are second only to parents in shaping kids’ values.
Having witnessed the Affordable Care Act, I really agree with him on affordable health care for all. Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness aren’t possible if you’re sick and can’t afford medical help.
Finally, it sickens me to see western national monuments and public land reduced in order to benefit corporations. And it literally sickens me to breathe polluted air, drink compromised water and so on. I’m with Unger on protecting Colorado lands.
So, I agree with what Unger says, but here’s another reason I’m voting for him. Unger is really intelligent. I’ve listened to him and been impressed at how he deconstructs complicated issues. For example, he understands what American health care has been, what it could be, how we could have it and why we should have it. We need thinkers with quick minds in our Senate. People who actually enjoy research and reasoning. Senators who will provide evidence for policies they support. Senators who can solve problems.
Guinn Unger’s such a candidate and he has my vote.
