Philanthropic Educational Organization Chapter BR announced that Amiah Hansen has been awarded a $2,500 STAR Scholarship from P.E.O. International.
Hansen is a recent graduate from Durango High School and will attend Yale University in the fall. She intends to major in psych-neuroscience and earn a certificate in Spanish.
A P.E.O. STAR Scholarship is an award for outstanding achievement in high school to a senior girl who has demonstrated excellence in leadership, extracurricular activities, community service, academics and potential for future success.
P.E.O. is a philanthropic and educational women’s organization with more than 200,000 members in North America, including three chapters in Durango.
