I cannot believe I am living in America, my beloved country of 81 years.
I am appalled at the creation of ICE, an organization of masked men, carrying no license or identification, “disappearing” immigrants for no reason. Their budget is more than the total military budget of Russia on a yearly basis. The sign on bonus is $50,000. They often are reimbursed $30,000 per capture of a human.
The purpose of the organization, not part of the Department of Defense, is to pick up immigrants and send them away to unknown locations. (Some have been sent to countries at war in Africa!)
The agents stalk members of our population and arrest them at places of employment, outside courthouses where they are fulfilling the on going requirements of immigrant status and, amazingly in some locations, outside of public schools. Seventy percent of such immigrants have no criminal history.
The only recent historical example of such a state-approved kidnap of humans is the Gestapo in Hitler’s Germany. Where is our shame?
Have we no compassion for those who serve us, build our homes and offices, and keep agriculture alive in our country?
Have we no compassion? Were we not once a country of immigrants?
