Woodworth leads way for FLC men’s golf

The Fort Lewis College men’s golf team is seventh out of 10 teams after playing two rounds at Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Event No. 2 on Monday at Walking Stick Golf Course in Pueblo.

The Skyhawks shot a team total of 51-over 619, putting them 31 shots off the pace set by first-place Colorado School of Mines, which fired a 20-over 588. Western New Mexico was four shots back in second, followed by Regis, CSU-Pueblo, Colorado Mesa and Colorado Christian.

Colin Prater of Colorado Mesa leads Jordan Arndt of Colorado Mines by one shot and Minkyu Jeon of CCU by two in the overall standings after carding matching 71s for a 142.

Josh Woodworth lead the Skyhawks with a 154, good for a tie for 26th. Teammate Dillon Washburn tied for 30th with a 155, and Bryan Schlichter tied for 38th after Day 1 with a 157.

Durango High School alumnus and FLC golfter Morgan Miller fired a 160 to tie for 47th, as did teammate Lucas Laudick.

The third and final round will take place Tuesday at Walking Stick in Pueblo.
