Health care losers far outweigh winners

Loser. One of President Trump’s favorite words. According to the Congressional Budget Office’s analysis of the AHCA, the number of people who would lose health insurance coverage by 2026 is 23 million.

That’s a lot of losers.

Mostly the losses would be to Medicaid recipients – folks with disabilities, low-income seniors, pregnant women and single mothers – and to those who can only afford insurance with the subsidies provided by the ACA

Among the winners are quite a few rich people (nowhere close to 23 million), who would save big bucks on their taxes. The Senate bill would have even more drastic effects over the long haul. I suppose those “losers” will vote in the next election.
