In today’s world, more than ever, everyone should have the protection of health insurance.
The current COVID-19 pandemic has demonstrated how major medical events can happen to any of us, old or young, strong or healthy. While health insurance cannot keep you from getting sick, it can make it easier and less expensive to get the care you need without jeopardizing your health or financial future. Given the challenges we know people are facing during COVID-19, San Juan Basin Public Health wants to help you get the protection you need during these trying times.
Fortunately, almost everyone who needs health insurance will soon be able to enroll in the plan of their choice with the help of Connect for Health Colorado and SJBPH. The majority of applicants will be eligible for financial help paying for their insurance. Connect for Health and SJBPH do not sell insurance but make it easy to find the best plan for you and your family and we help make sure you don’t pay any more for it than you need to.
As of Nov. 1, and through Jan. 15, 2021, most Coloradans can enroll in health insurance coverage that begins as early as Jan. 1. And this year, there is great news: Southwest Colorado will have a new insurance company with exciting new plans available for 2021. Even if you have coverage, it is always a good idea to review your options and make sure you are still on the most cost-effective plan available for your family’s needs.
All plans offered through Connect for Health Colorado include coverage at no cost for wellness and preventive services, so you won’t need to pay for important annual check-ups, well visits, vaccinations and more. Most medical providers in the area are in-network, meaning you can probably keep your favorite doctor. Remember, pre-existing conditions and health history won’t affect your ability to get insurance or affect what it costs.
Financial assistance to help pay for your insurance is not only available, it’s generous, as well. Many of SJBPH’s clients qualify for free or significantly reduced cost insurance, even with a good income. Single individuals can earn over $50,000 per year, and a family of four can earn $104,000 and still qualify for help. Here at SJBPH, we know the ins and outs of the eligibility rules and the application process, so we’ll make sure you get all the financial help you deserve so you have the lowest possible premiums for the coverage that’s right for you.
Even healthy people need health insurance, just like good drivers still need car insurance. Why? Because bad things can happen to anyone, and you can only get insurance before that bad thing happens.
