The new Durango Herald website launched Monday, and some people had additional questions about logging in or getting a subscription.
The Herald partnered with Wallit, an account-based software company, to offer a number of ways to access content that readers want, said Aani Parrish, senior operations manager.
If you have a print-plus or digital-only subscription, you can link your existing subscription to the new site simply by creating a Wallit account at bit.ly/2fR8g1z.
Then, you can log in at durangoherald.com by clicking the “Log In” link at the bottom of the screen, Parrish said. Subscribers will receive an email this week from the Herald with a URL to their accounts to make this process even easier.
For those who don’t have a subscription, go to durangoherald.com/subscriptions to view the print-plus and digital-only packages. Purchasing a subscription through Wallit is easy and secure, Parrish said, adding that packages automatically renew at the end of a selected term to provide uninterrupted service. The digital-only package is $10 a month.
Those who don’t want to commit to a subscription can purchase individual articles by using a credit card to drop funds into a Wallit account.
This can be done during account set up or at any time by clicking “My Profile” via the menu at the bottom of the screen. The money deposited can be used to purchase single articles for 25 cents on the Herald website.
“We’re confident we’ve created a better user experience that you can enjoy across any of your devices and are excited to share it with you,” Parrish said in a note to readers. “Our partners at Wallit and our customer-service representatives here at the Herald are standing by to assist you with any questions.”
