Help veterans renew Choice Program

On Dec. 31st the Veterans Choice Program is due to expire if not renewed.

The program allows vets to see local doctors instead of traveling long distances to Veterans Administration facilities for care.

Eight months ago I had surgery. If it was not for the Choice Program, I would of had to drive to Albuquerque for two pre-surgery visits, surgery and then three post-op visits.

The VA pays for my gas when I need to go to Albuquerque and either puts me up in Hero’s Hall at their facility, or if they are full, pays for my motel.

Allowing us to see local doctors saves taxpayers’ money and saves the veteran from long road trips.

This is a good program; please call, write or email your representatives and ask them to renew this program.
