Herald hunting information inconsistent

In your the article (Herald, Sept. 29), “Hunting on your national forest and Bureau of Land Management lands” it states, “On the BLM Tres Rios and Gunnison Field Office lands, motorized vehicles are limited to existing roads. No cross-country motorized travel is permitted.”

However, in the current BLM handbook titled “Colorado Recreation” (available at https://on.doi.gov/2qluRbz) in the section on the Cortez Recreation Area (which is listed under the Tres Rios Field Office) it states the following: “This area also contains the only “open” (to cross country travel) motorized areas in the field office, providing rock crawling, OHV play and skill-building.”

Please correct your records so you provide accurate information in the future.
