Newspaper office will be open from 6-10 p.m. Tuesday

The Durango Herald has enjoyed hosting an open house the evening of general elections, every four years, and will do so again on Tuesday, Nov. 5, from 6 to 10 p.m., at 1275 Main Ave. There will be a couple of large screen TVs for Denver and national election programming, and hors d'oeuvres, with red, white and blue bunting on the front of the building. Results from the La Plata County Clerk's office will be posted as they come in.
All are welcome. We hope that party labels, including an unaffiliated label, won't be worn too proudly and that we instead focus on common ground, as best we can.
There will be no alcohol, as we missed the city's application date.
We hope to see you Tuesday evening.
