Herald misguided to reduce print edition

I continue to be disappointed by the changes in the Herald.

Even though we are a small Western town, we do care about what is happening throughout the world. Since so many items are taken from The Washington Post, it isn’t that difficult to take even more world and national news items and add another page so that we get an early morning report on what transpired yesterday.

There are many of us who want to hold the paper in our hands, to read about what is happening as soon as possible, to fill out crossword and Sudoku puzzles on paper (once again, May 12 puzzle questions were missing).

We do not live in a vacuum. We have come here from all over the country, indeed, the world. Removing the weather map for the U.S. is another mistake you have made.

I moved to Durango from Maryland in ’05 and I am glad to be here. I have subscribed on a yearly basis to the Herald. I need to know what is happening locally as well as nationally, so I continue my subscription.

And I feel very discouraged by your actions. As Durango continues to grow, we need a local paper delivered seven days a week. You are shortsighted in making the decision to cut your loyal readers short.
