Casey Holman, with the Colorado Department of Transportation, clears dirt and rock below the cliff on Colorado Highway 3 on Thursday morning. Workers finished the project by Thursday afternoon and reopened the northbound lane, which had been closed to traffic since Wednesday. The same stretch of road will undergo chip-sealing next week. Traffic lanes will be closed alternately from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday, CDOT spokeswoman Nancy Shanks said.
