Heritage Orchard Conference offers webinars

The Heritage Orchard Conference through the University of Idaho will present a free webinar series.

Participants will learn about the work of fellow fruit enthusiasts. Jude Schuenemeyer with Montezuma Orchard Project will give a presentation Jan. 20.

Presentations will be offered from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.:

Sept. 16: Heritage apple identification using genetic fingerprinting methods. Oct. 21: Apple identification with DNA: Identity and pedigree revelations using new tools. Nov. 11: Apples and their uses – past and present. Dec. 16: Researching the history and people behind the apples. Jan. 20: Community led efforts to conserve orchards and fruit of the West. Feb. 17: Restoration pruning.
