Heritage Society appreciates support

The Pine River Valley Heritage Society annual fundraiser on Sept. 26, featuring the Bar D Wranglers, was a great success. The Worleys sang during the meal while our hungry guests enjoyed a new menu of beef brisket with all the fixings. Brenda's Café donated the cornbread, and dozens of cookies were provided by members and friends who help to support our museum. It takes considerable time and effort to coordinate this event and we greatly appreciate all those who helped. We have a great community and this outpouring of support is what makes our little town of Bayfield a wonderful place to call home!

The museum is closed for the season, ending with Heritage Days, and will reopen the last Saturday in May. Volunteers staff our museum on Tuesday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with free admission. Generous donations during your visits and our monetary support from local businesses help to ensure the museum will continue to operate.

The annual meeting is open to the public and will be held at 10 a.m. Jan. 10 at the Pine River Public Library. If you are interested in the heritage of the Pine River Valley and preserving pioneer history, this is the group that would appreciate you becoming an active member.
