Hermosa Park Road delays are expected

Resurfacing to occur through Oct. 4

Just in time for fall colors, traffic delays are expected on the Hermosa Park Road (Forest Service Road 578) starting Saturday as the road is resurfaced.

The road will be closed daily from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m. seven days a week through Oct. 4. The Forest Service is resurfacing five miles of the road, and it will have employees on site for traffic control, according to a news release from the Forest Service.

The closures will affect access to the Upper Hermosa Creek Trailhead, Bolam Pass and beyond. Access to Relay Creek Road (Forest Service Road 579) will also be impacted, as dump trucks are using it to deliver to the road graders from a pit up the road.
