San Juan Mountains Association will hold a glacial geology field seminar and hike to Highland Mary Lakes on Sept. 17 near Silverton.
Certified guide MK Gunn will lead a hike to the high-alpine lakes from the trailhead and teach participants about glacial geology.
A carpool from Durango will leave at 7 a.m., or participants can meet at the trailhead around 8:30 a.m.
