FRISCO – Authorities say a woman died after taking a substantial fall while hiking a ridgeline in the backcountry of central Colorado’s mountains.
The Summit Daily reports the woman, whose name and age have not been released, was hiking with a friend north of Silverthorne when she fell Saturday afternoon.
Because of the rough terrain, the woman’s body had to be removed by a Blackhawk helicopter from the High Altitude Army National Guard Training Site.
No other information was released.
