Hillary was right, they’re the deplorables

“Real power is – I don’t even want to use the word – fear.” That’s Donald Trump quoted to Bob Woodward and Robert Costa in March 2016.

Fear is the governing product that Republicans have been selling to America’s voters for years now; fear of socialism, fear of MS-13, of immigrants, job loss, Democrats. Fear, fear, fear; no ideas, just fear.

This fear that Republicans sell is essentially based on lies. Lying comes naturally to this administration, the president himself having produced over 3,000 well documented lies in the nearly two years of his presidency.

The Republicans have done their own fair share of lying, cloaked in the thin drapery of governance: We will replace Obamacare with something better, cheaper; provide tax cuts that will trickle down to you from corporations and the wealthy; make America great again; and now the president himself has promised us a 10 percent tax cut in the next few weeks. When will we be offered that famous bridge in Brooklyn?

You have only to watch a little of these presidential rallies being held around the country to realize that this hogwash the P. T. Barnum of American presidential politics is selling is being bought by his Republican base. And the Republican Party, certain that this base will vote for them in the upcoming election,s are campaigning alongside him. That there are Americans buying this claptrap is deplorable. Perhaps Hillary Clinton wasn’t so far off the mark.

Vote these fear mongers out on Nov. 6!
