Hillcrest Golf Club plans to open March 2, weather permitting.
“This date will give time for the snow to melt and for the grounds crew to get the course in condition for play,” the club said in an email. “We will be opening all 18 holes as long as Mother Nature cooperates.”
Believe it or not with our mild winter to date, there still is quite a bit of snow on some parts of the course.
Snow has been sparse in recent weeks, and it looks like that trend will continue.
The National Weather Service forecasts dry and sunny weather with highs in the 50s into next week.
Last year, the golf course opened Feb. 14 and closed Dec. 7.
A public, 18-hole course, Hillcrest Golf Club was established in 1969.
