Hockey teams defend home ice

Next intro to hockey program to begin Jan. 11

There was a lot of hockey action at the Chapman Hill Ice Rink this weekend.

Durango’s 14U, 12U-A and B and 10U-A teams hosted the Albuquerque Ice Wolves and played them three times each.

The 10U-A team went 2-0-1 against the Ice Wolves. Parker Brown, Greyson Bickert, Carter Lopez, Emmett Sorenson and Tyler Wood all scored goals. Assisting them were Wood, Lopez, Brown and Sorenson. Brown had three assists in one of the games to earn a playmaker.

Brady Wright and Asher Clair were strong on defense.

The 12U-A team went 0-1-2 against the Ice Wolves. Ben Blanchard, Cooper Brown, Dante Devitre, Eric Strength and Hunter Wildman scored goals for the team. Clegg, Ian Fowler, Linn and Preston Loughman were credited with assists. Defenders Chip Catsman, Clegg, Linn, Jerad Lopez and Indie Eaton helped keep the puck out of their zone.

Devitre and Loughman shared time in the net.

The 12U-B team went 2-1 over the weekend, outscoring the Wolves 14-7 in their three games. Goalie Landon Quimby shut out the Ice Wolves in one of the games. Offensively, Shea Morrissey earned a hat trick while Ben Blanchard, Brady Labossiere, Shea Morrissey, Jody Holden, Milo Martin, Donnie Rome and Colton Green also scored goals. Keeyln Reynolds, Green, Martin, Frankie Golbricht, Benji Rice, Labossiere, Holden and Pollard Addis assisted them.

Durango’s 14U team went 1-2. Connor Jones, Gavin Zuber, Wynn Daniels, Brenden Johnson scored goals. while Sawyer Jones and Connor Jones had assists. Fiona Chandler played between the pipes.

Most of the teams will now be off until New Year’s weekend.
