Hold your tongue, now, it’s a snowy town

With the snow that Durango has received, everyone needs to take a deep breath and take it easy. Don’t only slow down with your driving, but with your remarks. This is a small rural town.

Our city and county deal with snow removal as they can with the number of people they can employ and with the monetary resources they receive.

This is not a big city, or an Aspen, with huge tax bases.

I have lived here nearly 45 years, through many winters worse than this one. Everyone should appreciate what is being done, not complain about it.

This is a Colorado town. That means snow. We have been in a drought, so haven’t had normal winters for years now. This one is getting close to normal.

We should all remember that this is the way it should be, and that because it’s a small town is why we are here.

Don’t gripe because it’s not like where you came from. You can always go back. Or take a breath and deal with things yourself instead of expecting someone else to take care of you.
