Home Slice restroom signs are offensive

Regarding your front page article displaying a photo of the restroom door signage displayed at Home Slice Pizza in Durango, I am shocked. It depicts an icon man lifting up the skirt of an icon woman.

As an adult male, I want to state in no uncertain terms that this signage is not only tasteless, but it is suggestive of a criminal act as well. In addition, it is misogynist, sexist, and outright stupid.

I am guessing most woman are outraged by this signage, if not all. All men and, for that matter, everyone, should be outraged over it. Men who think this is funny, cute or a joke need to re-think their misguided view of women and, more specifically, the impropriety of the indicated behavior toward women.

I am a resident of Durango and will not become a customer of Home Slice until I see the removal of this signage and a public apology for displaying it. The owner or manager should waste no time in removing the signs and making an apology.

There is nothing funny about it. I don’t want to hear someone tell me that I am failing to see the humor in it. Anyone who could say that needs to take a very close look at themselves for accepting this type of signage as okay in our society in any shape or format, at any time.
